As a graphic designer, I worked in the abstract concepts of usability, flow, white space and message. While it is easy to see the influences of graphic design in my wire jewelry, it has become an outlet for me to explore a new design aesthetic – the blank pages have been replaced by ears, wrists, necks and fingers.
My early interest in art caused me to pursue that direction at the Ontario College of Art and Design where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design. The opportunity to study jewellery design and metalsmithing appeared a few years after finishing my design program while working full time as a designer. The entrepreneurial bug bit me hard in 2007 when I decided to turn my full focus to jewellery design.
I live in Toronto and work out of my luminous basement studio. When I am not creating you can find me at home cooking, entertaining and spending time with my three rescue dogs and partner Daryle.
